1. Overview

Space Atlas: Explore the Universe is an educational astronomy application. We are committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what data we collect (very little) and how we handle it.

2. Data We Do Not Collect

Space Atlas: Explore the Universe does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data. Specifically:

• No user accounts or login required
• No email addresses, names, or personal identifiers
• No location data
• No usage analytics or tracking
• No advertising SDKs or ad identifiers
• No third-party analytics (no Firebase Analytics, no Mixpanel, etc.)

3. Local Storage

All your app data (preferences, quiz scores, favorites, reading progress) is stored locally on your device using AsyncStorage. This data never leaves your device and is not synced to any server.

4. Network Requests

The app connects to the internet solely to fetch publicly available astronomical data:

• NASA APIs — Astronomy Picture of the Day, Near-Earth Objects, solar activity data
• NOAA Space Weather Prediction Center — Aurora forecasts and Kp index
• Open APIs — ISS position tracking, astronaut count, rocket launch schedules

These requests do not include any personal information. They fetch publicly available scientific data only.

5. Push Notifications

Space Atlas: Explore the Universe offers optional local push notifications (daily quiz reminders, streak alerts). These notifications are scheduled entirely on your device. No notification data is sent to any server. You can enable or disable notifications at any time in the app settings.

6. Children's Privacy

Space Atlas: Explore the Universe is an educational app suitable for all ages. We do not knowingly collect any data from children or any other users. The app contains no social features, no chat, and no user-generated content sharing.

7. Third-Party Services

The app integrates the following third-party service:

• RevenueCat — Used to manage in-app subscriptions (Space Atlas Pro). RevenueCat processes your purchase transactions through Apple's App Store. It receives an anonymous app user ID and purchase receipt data. It does not receive your name, email, or any personal identifier. See RevenueCat's Privacy Policy.

The app does not integrate any analytics, advertising, or social media SDKs.

8. Data Security

Since we do not collect personal data, there is no personal data at risk. Your local app data is protected by your device's built-in security (device lock, encryption).

9. Changes to This Policy

If we update this privacy policy, the new version will be posted on this page with an updated date. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance.
